I Really Like Music

I really like music. Alright now that I have professed this elaborate thought I will continue. Ok, so as I just mentioned in the first sentence, I really enjoy music. I especially enjoy listening to music when laying down in bed. This is because of several reasons. First off, music helps me drift into sleep a whole hell of a lot easier. I also find music a lot more interesting when listening before sleeping. All of the different sound textures and melodies are experienced in a whole different way. With darkness all around me and my eyes tightly shut, there is only one thing for me to experience. I am one on one with the music. This brings me to my next reason. When listening to music, there is nothing to distract me. There is truly nothing outside of me that could possibly pull my attention away from the music. Something else that I have literally just come to realize about this wall between myself and my surroundings, is that it embodies the feeling of being an individual. This to me is pretty cool. Ok, I think I'll just stop right there. This wasn't what I was planning on writing about, and I'm on the verge of spewing out some distorted form of philosophy. I do find these kinds of things interesting though, but I can't speak for anyone else. Alright well I'll write about the other related nonsense tommorow or some other day after tommorow. Oh and...I really like music.

Drawing A Blank

Well, once again I don't have much to write about. This is either because I don't have an idea, or more likely that I don't feel confident enough to write about a particular topic. This is something that I really need to work on. I usually think about many things in my head throughout the day which interest me and could probably interest others, it's just that the confidence isn't there. O dear. Well, I will have to continue to write about nothing I suppose. I really should be writing 10x times the amount that I currently am if I expect to get any traffic at all. Okway dokway. I'll most likely post some more artworks in a bit.

First Success With ClickBank

About two days ago I came across one of the many famed ways of earning money through the internet. The technique that I came across was the use of ClickBank. In case you are unaware what exactly this website offers I will try to sum it up as best I can. Basically, ClickBank is the middleman in the process of online distribution of digital products. Along with ClickBank there are the publishers and the affiliates which help complete this business model. The publishers come to ClickBank with a product of their own which they believe to be of quality, and ClickBank buys the product from them for a lower price than orginally set by the publisher. The publishers' products are then placed on the marketplace on ClickBank's website. Now, this is where the affiliates come into play. The job of affiliated is to promote any of the thousands of products found on ClickBank's marketplace. This is done by retrieving a link for a product of your choice which is unique to your username, more specifically a "hoplink". This hoplink is what earns affiliates money. Every time a consumer follows the unique hoplink of an affiliate, that particular affiliate is credited a set commision of the sale. Ok, now back to my success with ClickBank. I realize that my explanation of the whole process is brief and probably has many gaping holes throughout, but I don't feel like going in depth at this time. Mabey another time. My role in the whole process is as an affiliate. After signing up two days ago I have been trying to promote several products as well as research this whole process. I really wasn't expecting to make a sale anytime soon. This is why I was very surprised when I checked my account about an hour ago with a sum of $23.50 credited to my name. This really isn't a lot of money. Believe me, I know. The truly great thing about this is that it can be accomplished by anyone out there with a little bit of time put into it. I guess I just wanted to document this first success with ClickBank, as well as encourage anyone out there who hasn't had success yet. Just keep persisting and you will find success. Ok, I'll stop now. I've been rambling and this is probably obnoxiously long. Thanks to anyone who has taken the time to read this!

Some Random Drawings From My Sketchbook

Haven't really put much more though into what I'd like to write but yesterday I thought it might be a good idea put some of my drawings on here. This is just a random page from my sketchbook. I'll probably end up putting a lot more of my drawings on here as time goes on. I don't really know what you would call these types of drawings but I suppose they could be considered abstract. Anyhow, this is the type of drawing I'm into along with cartoons. If anyone out there comes across this page, please feel free to comment. Also, these are probably best viewed in landscape but I couldn't figure out how to rotate it on here and I don't feel like going back and changing it through photoshop.

How To Speed Up Torrent Downloads

Since I can't think of anything else to write as my first post, here is a guide I wrote up earlier on my xomba account.

This is a method which I have found helps very much when trying to maximize the efficiency of your torrent downloads. I use uTorrent as my torrent client, and therefore this method might only apply to uTorrent as I haven’t really tried any other clients out. I am also using a Linksys router, so some of the areas which I mention may differ from your router.

The first step I usually take is to enter the default IP of my router into the address bar of my browser and hit enter. This will differ from router to router but can easily be found using google by typing in your router model. Generally, the default IP looks something like this: 192.168.x.x. After looking into the possible default router addresses I have found that the last to place holders may go up to three digits each. You must also look up you default login and pass for your router, or use the ones which you have already assigned to the router.

After you have successfully reached your router’s setup menu you need to look for a section that reads something along the lines of port forwarding. In my case, I now see the sections Application, Start, End, Protocol, IP Address, and Enable. Yours may not be exactly the same but as long as there are similar field you should be fine. Now I will tell what to type into each of the fields.

Application: This one really is up to you but I use torrent

Start: 6881

End: 6889

Protocol: Hit the down arrow and select Both

IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx

This will differ for you. I will explain this in the next section.

Enable: Just check the box

Now just save the settings.

In order to find the last three digits which you will fill in for the IP Address field of the port forwarding section you must take two simple steps using the command line. I use Windows Vista so I would hit the start button and type “cmd” into the search line. This will bring up the command line. Now just type “ipconfig” and hit enter. You are looking for the last three digits of the IPv4 Address. Once you have acknowledged this you are able to fill these digits into the IP Address field of your router.

At this point you are basically done optimizing your torrent downloads through uTorrent. This last step may have already been a default setting in uTorrent, but I will include it anyway as I don’t remember at all. Open up uTorrent>Options>Speed Guide>Enter 6881 for the current port. You can also test if you have done everything correctly or if there is still something blocking your connection by clicking “Test if port is forwarded properly”.

Hope this guide has helped at least the slightest bit, and thanks for taking the time to look!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will try my best to help out.
